Eastwood Eye Specialists is at the forefront of latest advances in medical treatment and research. Our experienced specialist doctors are committed to providing the best treatment for our patients using the latest evidence. On the basis of the retinal subspecialist expertise and experience of our doctors, as well as our advanced technology, Eastwood Eye Specialists has been selected as a leading clinical research unit in this part of Sydney.
Benefits of such clinical trials for our patients at Eastwood Eye Specialists include the possibility of accessing the latest and advanced treatments for common conditions such as macular degeneration (AMD) and diabetic retinopathy, prior to its wider public availability at market release. For some trials, patients can access the treatment free of charge including the required detailed eye assessments, imaging and eye injections.
We are currently recruiting patients with wet AMD already being treated with Eylea or Lucentis injections, who can be switched over to Vabysmo, the latest proven and PBS-approved treatment for this sight-threatening condition. Vabysmo (Faricimab) has been proven to safely provide longer time intervals between eye injections. Eligible patients in this Phase 4 clinical trial will be able to receive Vabysmo treatment free of charge for 12 months.
